NFL playoff standings: Seahawks rule NFC, wild card very much an open race

Following an eventful Week 11, the NFC playoff picture is beginning to take shape. The Seattle Seahawks continue to sit on top of the conference, but will have to keep winning if they intend to stay there. With key upcoming games for a number of teams, both of the top two spots could change in the next few weeks.

At 10-1, the Seahawks have a 1.5-game lead over the New Orleans Saints for the No. 1 seed. The two teams will play in Seattle in two weeks and if the Saints beat the Atlanta Falcons this week, it will be a battle Giants Cheap Jerseys for the top spot in the NFC. If the Seahawks win that contest, they would hold at least a two-game lead and the head-to-head tiebreaker over New Orleans.

The Jets do need help in the secondary. While the run defense is arguably the NFL’s best, the pass defense ranks 22nd in the league giving up 251 yards per game. Reed is known as one of the NFL’s all-time great ball hawks, and the Jets are no doubt hoping he can spark a defense that has forced a league-low seven turnovers this season.

Unfortunately, Reed’s brief stint with the Texans suggests he is a much different player Cheap Real Jerseys than the one who built a Hall of Fame career with the Baltimore Ravens. The signing was not met with overwhelming excitement at Jets blog Gang Green Nation, but at least the move won’t hurt if it fails:

Although most believe that Reed is washed up and pretty much useless at this point, my feeling is that if there is anyone capable of getting something out of him, it’s Rex Ryan. If he is unable to do so, then the team can release Reed with little impact.
